Imagine you had set up a stream and broadcast most / all days. You picked up a following and people come to chat each and every day and the numbers were growing – fantastic. Of course this streaming business is in real time, it’s not something you can do while you are somewhere else. I noticed a few shows of late that have now entered into this “Break” Period for one reason or another:
Zane Savage went on an extended vacation show wise and explained he was working on Version 2.0 – this is the look, the placement of the Camera’s, the web site etc.
Jody Gnant seem’s to have be having a rest, not see her show on-line for some time now. Maybe she does come on-line and is busy with some business stuff – I am not sure.
The Tech Buzz is converting an Attic into a Room so that the owner (Steve) has a bigger place to put his computer and this is taken a lot longer then he first thought – this means he has not been able to sit at the camera for a while and as predicted the numbers are falling as people seem to want more then chat.
This brings about the question – if you chose to stream, apart from the Computer heating up due to constant usage, the connection been raped to get the best image (and getting capped in the process using too much Upload) and then having your life right there on the screen for others to see – what goodness does this bring to YOU as a streamers instead of a watcher? Do not get me wrong – I am all for popping along to s stream and seeing the person – to me its like the next version of chatting but only one person been seen – a quick way to find people to chat to if you like (with Skype, you would have to know them first).
I still suggest a more structured show for persistent numbers – If I knew a show was on 8pm my time, I could plan for that but guessing if it is on, then I will probably miss it.
