It goes without saying that putting adverts on your website and hoping for the money to come rolling is the perfect dream in that your getting paid to do not much at all. Of course the problem is that Adverts do not pay out unless people click on that and most people are stick to death of seeing adverts – they are either blocking them or plain ignoring them. The question is then – can adverts actually work on a website?
Types of Adverts
You hear then on the radio, you see them on the TV, you see them on a lot of sites and even get spammed by them on your email. This means people switch off to adverts for most part and even go to the point of avoiding clicking on the links, a case of too much “in your face” it seems. As an example , I had put 3 google adverts on my Google blog and if I had not personally clicked the adverts every single day from different locations, I would not have gained a whopping $28.09 (maybe some of this also came from others – but I checked 2 months ago and it read $24 back then). If Google feel you are cheating them – your account will be killed, so not worth the effort.
What might work?
My very own theory is picking up affiliates which are relevent to your site and place these adverts on your page – this way at least I feel the products I am putting there is something I would buy myself, in the case of Bluehost for example. Some do not offer much in the way of percentages but again I am hoping people might spot something they like on Amazon and buy it. Keeping the adverts low keeps the people I feel – too many and it will drive them away, after all do you want people to come for the content or to put money in your backpocket – never forget your original goal.
