I recently turned my time once again to turning a normal desktop PC into a fully fledged OS X desktop, out of all the machines around me, I choose to turn a Fujitsu Siemens Scaleo P (AMD 3700+ 64Bit) into a working Mac Desktop.

WeGame – Freeware Alternative to Fraps.
Fraps is the software used to make a video recording of your game while playing but it costs money, there is a freeware program (as in costs nothing, nada) call “WeGame” which not only allows you to record your video but also upload it.

In the world of Webcam, if you want the best picture with the best light pickup, then you can do no better at this moment then the mighty Logitech 9000 Pro Webcam. If all you do is occasional video chat via Skype or whatever, then the cheap webcam’s will suit your needs (and save you a lot of money) but for anything else, maybe this webcam is the choice for now. Microsoft VX-6000 Webcam – a 1.3MegaPixel, Wide Angle desktop webcam which seems to be very cheap from its RRP and looks like a bargain. The numbers and stats on the side of the box look amazing, its made by a named brand (Microsoft) and claims to work well in low-light – what can possible go wrong?
Linux as the Main OS
Can Linux (in this case Ubuntu) be installed on a machine, use all of the Ram, have better graphics and be able to do everything you require without any major hangups or having to jump to the console to perform black magic? I shall go through how it has worked out so far on a Laptop running 64Bit version and used on everything that I do to see how to copes.
