I love collecting various computer wallpapers and in conjunction with Johns Background Switcher and my dual screens, I can have the images change every 15 minutes (different picture per screen) and still never see the same picture twice. I installed Gallery 3 RC 1 and the link is at the top of the menu bar. It will take me time to finally upload all of my pictures and should you find your own artwork here – then it just came in one of the many packs I download over the years.

DVD is Dead
As time moves forward, so does technology and with it the need to store data on something that may last. I only just read about floppies finally dying (though I still have a USB Model and a box full of blanks) and I thought I would pass my thoughts on the media that I use today and why I feel that CD-R and DVD-R may as well be dead too.
Live Streaming shows and time zones
I thought I would write a few words on live streaming shows, how it effects me (and most European people) and time zones. I was thinking back when I used to spend most of my time on Ustream as the site of choice to catch the latest person streaming a show from there web-cam and even stay up late so I could feature on these very shows, armed with IRC Client of choice and be part of a community of Tech minded people from all over the world, mostly USA based though. Of course time changes everything and some things have to fall by the way side, this is my update if you like on how it interacts with my life now.
Computer Use Glasses
I remember seeing while out one day a pair of glasses with a tint to them marked up as Computer Use Glasses and I laughed at them as failed to see the point of wearing a pair of rose tinted glasses while on the computer. After some thought, it occurred to me that they might be of use and I tried on a friends Yellow tinted pair at work – but now I could not find them anywhere. The other day while out, I spotted these very things – they cost £10 and while this may sound a bit much (well it did to me) – needs are a must and I bought them.

Turn your HTC HD2 into a wireless router
It’s good to have your own personal wireless network, both for reasons of security and convenience – and now, with a little help from us, you can set one up with your HTC HD2.
So, if you like the sound of using your HTC HD2 as a wireless router, follow these simple steps:
1. Before you do anything, make sure that your HTC HD2 has a SIM card in it and its connected to the internet – 3G, GPRS and EDGE are all good – and the computer you’re using has a built-in or external Wi-Fi adaptor.
2. To set up your phone as a wireless router Tap Start and go to Wi-Fi Router.
3. If this is the first time you’ve opened Wi-Fi Router there’ll be a little introduction, which you can either watch or skip. After this, tap Next.
4. Now, you need to set up the phone’s Wi-Fi network by entering a network name and a ten digit WEP key.
4 Ways Smartphone Vendors Can Retain Customers
The smartphone war is well and truly underway, the big players including Apple, HTC, RIM, Samsung and Nokia are all vying for position in an already saturated mobile handset market.
Smartphone vendors are releasing handsets like never before but is it the best way to increase the all-important revenue stream that keeps these companies in business?
To me, there are some fundamental mistakes that smartphone vendors are making when bringing their products to market and I believe they can be amended. All is explained after the jump.
Training – Still on-going
While I spent every waking hour training in the British Army, it has been some years now since I did any sort of work out and it was apparent by my skinny body and skinny arms – but this changed one day, it was time to get fit and get bigger (and stronger). It is all too easy to put this off, after all would you rather be sitting in front of the TV or a computer then pounding the streets or chucking weights around for hours at a time right? This is my story (so far) of how I aim to get fitter without spending lots of money on gym’s and the like.
Fanboys
It is a well worn subject of the Mac vs. The PC (They mean windows right), we have Xbox360 vs. PS3, iPhone vs. Android and the list goes on. While there is a need to think what you have or what choice you make on buying something matters, the reality is the people who are making the stuff are lining there pockets with the money the Fan boys spend on this gear they think is so wonderful. I aim to discuss what I think the reason this all comes about and to dispel some myth’s along the way if I can.
