If you own more than one computer, you may find that some items would just work better if they were held in one central location and each computer could access these files no matter which computer was on – such as your MP3 Collection for example. This can take the form of dedicating one computer as a server if you like and left on 24/7, you could build your own NAS box or buy one of the many off the shelf – all are good but have a downside normally. I plan on jotting down my thoughts to give each idea a good going over and seeing how it look at the end – join me on my journey into NAS.

50Mbit Broadband
I currently have various services from Virgin and one of them includes Broadband which is provided by cable. They offer a choice of 10Mbit / 512kbit, 20Mbit / 768kbit and finally 50Mbit / 1.5Mbit. On both the 10Mbit and 20Mbit connections, they have bandwidth throttling which comes into place between 9am and 9pm. I liked the idea of upgrading to 50mbit but personally I could not see the need for such a thing.
Ustream vs. Justin.tv
I thought I would revisit the age old Ustream.TV vs. Justin.TV debate and look at how they have changed, problems encountered and write something from the end-users point of view – after all without people visiting and interacting with the chat, you might as well be talking to yourself. The quick background is that these sites along with others allow anyone with a webcam and a microphone to stream a live show, anything from pointing the webcam at some kittens to a full blow show with lower 3rds and transitions.
Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood: The CGI Trailer
Assassin’s Creed II was one of the best games of last year (or this year, if you’re a PC gamer). It fixed nearly all the faults of the first game, and now Ubisoft is hoping to take it a step further with Assassin’s Creed 2.5.

Updates – get them while they are hot
Every once in a while it is good to make sure you have the latest software running and today was a good point in question in that there is a few programs that have been updated and worth posting about in case anybody missed them. If you are already way ahead of the game – then no worries, nothing lost here but the one’s that I have seen so far are WordPress Updating to V3 and ATI getting to 10.6 on the Drivers fron as well as NVidia if your sporting a GeForce Card.
TV vs. Streaming
It has been said that streaming sites such as Ustream or Justin.TV are here to replace conventional TV and it puts the power of content in the hands of normal people as well as been fully interactive. While these people may live in this self made dream that what they are doing is overtaking television, I am here to tell you otherwsie – they have a long way to go yet.
Soluto – Speed up your Boot time

While there is tools out there that can help yo in the process, what about a nice graphical and very easy to use FREE piece of software to do the task for you? Soluto is that very tool and I gave it a whirl – read on to see what I thought.
Domain Re-Directed (Hacked)
I have a few domains, some are located on GoDaddy and some I got as part of my hosting. I prefer to have the domain on a dedicated site such as GoDaddy as this means I have full control over where it goes outside of any web hosting deal I am currently on. One of the sites on GoDaddy was mauldor.com and I had set this up to point to the correct place and then locked the domain – what this means is anybody (including me) making any changes will fire off an email to the chosen email address. Imagine my suprise when yesterday the domain pointed to lockerzpoints.
