After my Philips Headphones fell apart (Cheap plastic parts I guess), I was looking around for a new set. In my mind I had some requirements, I needed an in-line volume control, they needed to isolate the noise coming out, provide some nice volume and bass and if possible have a single cord for ease of use. I stumbled across these headphones while in Tesco and they were a mere £15 and seem to fit the requirements – but, do they work as planned?

Three New PS3 Games
While I was out and about I went into HMV for some headphones as it goes and while I could not find a decent pair of headphones, I did manage to see a whole range of bargains in the PS3 Section. Some of the prices of the games were about the same I had seen elsewhere but some were so cheap it was almost silly not to buy them. I saw EyePet which included the PS3 Camera for a steal at £10, now I already own the Webcam and have no great need to buy this Eyepet thing, as it is aimed at kids. The other Bargain I saw was at another store with Socom 4 which came in at £15 and this included the Bluetooth Headset.
NetWorx – Free Bandwidth Monitoring and Usage Reporting
NetWorx is a simple and free, yet powerful tool that helps you objectively evaluate your bandwidth situation. You can use it to collect bandwidth usage data and measure the speed of your Internet or any other network connection. NetWorx can help you identify possible sources of network problems, ensure that you do not exceed the bandwidth limits specified by your ISP, or track down suspicious network activity characteristic of Trojan horses and hacker attacks.
The program allows you to monitor all your network connections or a specific network connection (such as Ethernet or PPP) only. The software also features a system of highly customizable visual and sound alerts. You can set it up to alert you when the network connection is down or when some suspicious activity, such as unusually heavy data flow, occurs. It can also automatically disconnect all dialup connections and shut down the system.
The incoming and outgoing traffic is represented on a line chart and logged to a file, so that you can always view statistics about your daily, weekly and monthly bandwidth usage and dialup duration. The reports can be exported to a variety of formats, such as HTML, MS Word and Excel, for further analysis.
Locate your Dell Service Tag
If you work in a company that has a lot of Dell computers and you are tasked with going around to get all the details, this is easy enough for the desktop as this is located in an easy to get at place but Laptops in docking Stations are a real pain. I came across this Utility which will not only display the service tag and the Express code (needed when you call up dell support) but also a link to the drivers and the warranty pages.
Training Update Month Three
I am trying to keep the number of posts about fitness and training to a low number, I would hate to force feed the readers with a weekly update of me going to the gym and brag about it – this is not my point but more of how much down the road to changing my lifestyle to be bigger, fitter, stronger and overall better (in my eyes). Fitness is not for everyone I understand and can be a annoying to read about even.
My original goal was to become stronger, maybe bigger but at no point did I expect to be like a “body-builder” – I had told myself that I had tried this a few times in the past (during my time in the army for example) and I failed to get big back then so I assumed that my body was just “not the type” to get big and strong. In this post I plan to lay out what I have learned along the way and my short term goals.
Playstation Network Finally comes back online
Time to rejoice PS3 people because finally Sony have started to flip the switches around the world and they are finally the PSN to live once again. The first part was to download a firmware update (3.61) and then when I got the word, logged onto PSN vis the PS3. It asked me to change my password – which makes sense as the hackers have them all now and once that was complete, I was back online. Nothing showed up yet in the way of a “sorry we had the PSN down so long” bonus that I heard about but I am sure it will come out soon.
T-Mobile loose half a million customers in the USA
I read on the various blogs out there that T-Mobile have lost 471,000 people since the last quarter and too be honest if they operate anything like the UK side of the business, this is not a shocker at all to me. IN the UK we have a choice of T-Mobile, Orange (these two are now one of the same company), Vodafone and finally 3 plus we have places such as Carphone warehouse who deal with all the suppliers and just sell you a phone. Personally I hated Orange as a company as they had (at he time) limited coverage, more expensive phones / deals and generally bad staff. I use Vodafone at work and again, they operate like any faceless company. This left me with 3 and T-Mobile – the problem though? Smartphones have added an extra burden they cannot seem to cope with, once they sell you a deal, they are happy to forget about you. It’s about time the phone companies tried to find out what the customer want or you will end off as expected – running out of customers.
Running out of Tech Items to buy
There was a time when I was either looking on-line or in a large Tech store (such as PC World) and I would be looking at items I had no idea I needed but somehow bought anyhow to add to my collection. Eventually though, you can et to a point when the more sensible side of you asks that question in your head “Do I need yet another external hard drive?”. I think it depends on what items you buy in the first place that can cut down in the number of “other” items you need to buy and eventually as I stated, you walk around and see nothing on offer that you seriously need and thus save your hard earned money.
Still no Sign of Playstation Network
It is now the 8th May 2011 and although Sony have been making noises about offering a free Month of PSN+ service, a free game of some sort and other such good things, In the UK nothing has been heard and still no news of getting the service back. I have heard of people selling there PS3 and buying an XBOX360 and saying they will never buy a Sony product ever again and if you do not, then you must be a fan boy or something. I want to set the record straight from my own viewpoint of this whole PS3 debates.
