Background
I first started in computers back in 1982 (or thereabouts) with the advent of home computers such as the Sinclair Spectrum, Commodore Vic 20 and so forth. As the years rolled on, I had various home computers increasing in power as time when on. I joined the British Army at the age of 20 and at this point computers had to take a back seat for many years. As I was based in Berlin at one point, I bought various Commodore Amiga computers and eventually in 1994, I bought my first ever PC – its was a 486 DX 100 if I remember rightly.
I left the Army in 1996 and worked for various companies all around the world but mostly in the UK and in this time I have various desktop and laptop computers. I have tried all the different operating systems and there is no such thing as the perfect one – they all have some good and some bad points.
Current Equipment
My Main computer is a Dell XPS 435MT which features an Intel Core i7 CPU 920 running at 2.6Ghz has 9 GIG DDR3 Ram, 750GIG Harddrive along with an ATI 4670 Passive Graphics Card. This is connected to the Dell SP2309W display running @ 2048×1152 plus as a second monitor is a LG L203WT 20″ display which runs at 1680×1050.
I also have a self built Core 2 Duo 2.4ghz machine running 4 GIG DDR2 Ram, ATI 3650 connected to a Acer 20″ Display (1680×1050). This used to be at one time my main machine but now does various tasks when needed.
I also Own Apple iMac 27″ 2010 Model which is a Core i7 2.93Ghz.
I have a netbook and a laptop as well but my pride and joy is my 2xNAS Boxes by Synology. The DS210J sports two 2TB Harddrives and this holds my Applications, Movies and Pictures, also connected to this NAS box is an iomega 1TB USB 2 external drive which serves as a back. The Other NAS Box (DS110+) has 1 x 1TB Harddrive who’s task it is in life to hold my music collection as well as been my Torrent machine. They can both run web servers should the need arise as well as MySQL Servers.
I have an iPad 16GIG Wifi Only Model (which I won in a competition) along with the HTC Hero phone.

I have a Twitter account (LiquidTV) and I do have Facebook but keep this for friends and family. I hate adverts and while I have 3 on this site, I refuse to allow the Blog to become a Billboard for any passing company. I will happily review an item for any given company (which I have already done many times) but try and shy away from banner adverts and such.
The main reason I wanted to run this Blog site was when I was standing in a store looking at various cheap Webcams and asked myself “Is this any good” yet failed to find any reviews on-line or the reviews did not go into any depth (such as how good the microphone was for example). Of course I cannot afford to buy every single item, so anything I do buy, I try and give a fair overview.
