The Linutop is a Mini-pc (thin client) with a modified version of Xubuntu Installed.
The hardware is based on AMD’s Geode processor. There is an extensive list of other devices based on this processor here.
My Current Computer chair is getting a bit old and when I spotted this chair at The Range for £59.99 – I liked the Mesh Back, the rest for your lumber region and the overall good feel of the chair. After taking back the Massage unit in the previous post – I added the difference and brought this home with me.
While out Shopping at The Range I spotted a few different Massage chairs / options and they ranged from the one shown above for £24.95 to a much bigger model which came in at £49.95 and all the way up to £99.95 for the complete chair option. They had a few out and I was not too happy at what felt like somebody punching my back and the one you Blow up (with included pump) was more of a chair you relax in.

A Rather nifty guy has modded his (old) washing machine so when it is finished – it sends a Tweet. Quite why it matters to know the exact second it finishes is beyond me but looks cool none the less.

Toshiba Camileo H10
I thought that the old DV Tape technology camcorders was not the route to take, so I got to thinking that a small SD Card one would be better as it would be smaller, better battery life, better quality and so forth. I spotted in the local supermarket (Tesco’s for all your Brits that read this) this very model for £149.95 – previous loads more (They always say that right). They were out of stock, so I came back and did some research when I stumbled upon a youtube video that reviewed it and by god – it’s probably the worst Camcorder ever.
As it says on the end of the Video – its really just a rebadged Chinese no-name model. Verdict – Do not buy this period or you will be wasting your money !!
DOS T-Shirt
Microsoft is going from marketing computer programs to making clothes, with a new line of graphic tees dubbed “Softwear by Microsoft.”
“Softwear,” instead of software. Get it?
t’s no surprise that Crispin Porter & Bogusky — the agency Microsoft is relying on to make it cool — had a hand in the line of urban geek shirts expected to hit select stores on Dec. 15. Crispin conceived of the collection, the branding and many of the designs, as well as all the marketing materials, an agency representative said.

Imagine you got your hands on those cheap little RC Helicopters, they say on the side “Easy to fly” and you strapped to this a lightweight wireless webcam which runs from Batteries. The important thing here would be the Helicopter would be able to fly with the Camera attached. You can now fly the helicopter around while sending the Video online – forget your drive-cams and the like.
I am guessing the webcam would have to be bought from one of those SPY websites and you can pick up the Helicopter most places these days. Maybe there is already one out there, I have already seen Robot’s, Cars and such with a WebCam FItted (and powered) by the device. If you have come across anything like this – feel free to ket others know – as it sounds interesting.
I spotted this on engadget and recreating here:
When robot builders try to put a human face on their creations, the results usually range between mildly creepy and downright disturbing. Sparky, the Self Portrait Artifact Roving Chassis, dodges that problem entirely by displaying the face of a real, live person on an Erector- and bungee-mounted LCD, creating a package that’s far more charming than iRobot’s ConnectR. Based on a Mac mini, the bot uses Skype for the video and chat, with a plugin enabling the disembodied head to steer the thing about the room, tossing out Max Headroom quotes all the while. A short vid below gives the basics of how to bolt one of these together, while full instructions are at the read link. We just wish they could teach us how to build ourselves a charming smile like that.
