i bought the cheaper arnova £150 10 inch tablet and it works just fine , it dont have the white screen, slowdown issues u speak of in another blog post, although " you get what you pay for " is true in some cases, its not always the case IMHO. (look at the poor sods who paid 4 ton for a playbook) back in the day.

Success, ultimately, is the attainment of a goal. If your goal was building a consistent, entertaining, and most importantly profitable (or at least sustainable) source for news and information, then I put it to you that were not successful. If your goal was simply learning and discussing something you enjoy with a smallish group of folks online, you reached that goal and are right to be satisfied with your accomplishments.

as i am contemplating buying one of these , i found this review to be very indepth and truthful , having seen the author live testing the playbook via G+ hangouts ive seen first hand what this device is capable of , imin full agreement that for £200 u will not find these hardware specs for that price (at least not in UK). so id like to thank the author for helping me make the decision of whether or not to buy this , from what ive recently seen and read the answer is a definitive YES.

update i ended up buying the arnova 10 G2 and it suprised me the arova 9 G2 has better specs , but for what i paid thr 10 G2 has been a good buy , i could load androidmarket on it without rooting or flashing the device.

Looking at the Specs it does not state GPS and at no time could I get a GPS Signal, including in my car when I tested this. Although I did not state this (to keep review short) 1.8.0 was doing the same issues (crashing out etc) and 2.0 beta was no different. I can imagine that at some point they may fix the issues but time was not on my side to keep or return it. I did not want to keep a unit I felt had issues, after all the iPad works no matter what.

Good review, however as a correction, the Playbook DOES have GPS built in. Secondly (and more importantly) is that you took the device back and concluded that one of the reasons why RIM may be selling them cheap is because the software isn't working correctly.
In your review you state that you installed a beta version of the operating system. A beta version of the operating system is likely to throw up issues (which is why it is a beta version of the software).
Do you not think it unfair to make a conclusion on something based upon a beta version of the OS? Should you not have made your conclusion based upon the current release when you had no problems with it?
