Recently a good friend of mine went out and got himself a Boxee Box and the strange thing here is this box can be bought in the USA for about $179.99 whilst the UK pricing seems to be closer to £200. For those that are not in the know, the UK price should be closer to £114, so you can see why UK people will reject this box pretty much straight away. What got me thinking though was simple, will a Playstation 3 (which is now $250 or £190) do a better job then the boxee box as well as provide more content in the way of games and such?

Burnout Paradise Ultimate Box Serial Problem
I thought I would buy some games for the PC for a change and whist out and about yesterday, I spotted a few games which might tickle my fancy, these been Burnout Paradise Ultimate Box, Kane & Lynch 2 Dog Days and finally Brothers in Arms Hell’s Highway. I installed Burnout Paradise which installed also the EA Download Manager and finally when I ran the game, it told me there was an update. Once I got into the game, it asked me a EA Login to allow me to play on-line, once logged in it told me that the Serial key was Invalid and close the program down back to the desktop. After much searching on Google – I finally worked out why this was happening there si a story with this.
Steam versus Retail Store
Steam is the service created by Vale who in turn make games such as Half-Life and TeamFortress (plus many others of course). Recently over at Tom’s Hardware I read a story about Game Stores View Valve’s Steam as the Devil - The basics of the story is that a Major UK Game Retailer in the UK are upset enough by Steam to threaten that they will not carry any product that carry any Steam integration – I am having a guess here that the store in question is Game maybe? I might be wrong, but how about we look at buying a game via a store verus buying the same title over the Steam Service.
