If you have been following my blog of late, it has a Tablet slant and the reason for the sudden need for me to buy a tablet is the various companies dropping prices of the said items. I had already written about the Motorola Xoom dropping in price to £249 and how I struggled to actually buy one from a bricks and mortar store. I was out and about yesterday and thought I would try my luck at buying a tablet, any issues and I was happy to walk away – I just do not need a tablet that urgent.

Challenging the Retail Stores
If you recall, when I popped into the local Toys’R'Us Store and spotted the Elonex 10″ Tablet they refused my request to open one to see if it was of any use, build quality and so forth. While it is not law that they obey my every whim, I felt an object such as this tablet was the ideal object that should be out for all to see. I did write them an email and this post shall detail not only what reply I got back but also my thoughts.
Fragmented Android
In the world of Apple with the iPhone, the same company sells you the phones as the one making the operating system but in the world of Android – One company makes the phones, another writes most of the OS, another bolt on a GUI and finally the Phone operators add there little bit to the phone – we have in fact Fragmentation.
