At work I got a replacement phone, the current model they hand out now is the HTC HD Mini which runs on Windows Mobile 6.5 and has a sense UI bolted on front to give it a Android type look. What HTC did was take the HTC HD2 and shrink it down to a more manageable size – of course going down in size means they had to cut back on some items such as screen size and processor speed.
If you remember back, Microsoft created a powertool that allowed you to re-size picture on the fly, the only problem was, these only ran in Windows XP. If you have Vista or Windows 7, then Brice Lambson has re-created this tool for the latter operating systems. You can download the software via his site which comes in both a 32bit and 64bit flavour.
While hybrid laptop / Tablets PC’s are nothing new, they seem to have resurfaced with everyone wanting the portability of a Tablet PC but giving the full power of a normal laptop. Dell currently make the Latitude XT2 and while this is by no means the cheap option, it may be the very device you are looking for. Unlike the Apple iPad which runs iOS or the Samsung Tab which runs Android – this laptop is quite normal in that it runs whatever operating system you want to install on there such as Windows 7 or Linux for example.

This is by no means a ‘new’ phone and in fact I am sure you would be hard pushed to buy one today but it was a phone I got given to use at work and I thought it would be fun to write a review of this today age of touch screen phones running Android and such. I want to add that for a work phone, there is a few things I need this to do – given that I already carry about a HTC Hero Android phone running V2.1 – of course if I was offered one of the latest Android phones or the iPhone 4, I would not turn them down by any means. If you are in the market for a tool that can take an image of a hard drive, save it to a file and allow you to roll out this image to many computers or even just as a way to back up a complete machine – then there is a solution out there that comes as either a Free version or paid, depending on your needs. The product in question is Macrium Reflect and I will go through how I used this as a alternative to Norton Ghost and a few issues I found along the way.
Justin.TV has its own chat and you can sort of connect via IRC instead of using the in-built chat client. A Much better way is to use a client written by Vaughn, its is a IRC Client with built in video viewer and takes up much less room. You can find the program HERE – enjoy. You may have seen the various programs out there promising you the cure-all easy running registry fix and if your computer is running slow and not quite right, then you might be tempted into running one of these many programs out there in the hope it will make everything well once again. I have recently used Windows Live One care to scan and fix all the problems on my machine – did it do the trick or in fact did it make it 10x worse?
Back when I owned a iMac, I installed and used Growl for Mac – the utility ran in the background and popped up telling you when the track changed in iTunes, you had new mail and various other functions. Back then the Windows Version was not so good and very early in development – it is not until recently that I downloaded an application that could send Growl messages – I went on my search for the Windows version.
